Taiko Alethia: The New Name of Our Mainnet

Ethereum is rooted in the unwavering commitment to truth, decentralization, and openness. This is a commitment, we at Taiko have strived to support and grow since the launch of our mainnet in May 2024. As the first-ever based rollup, we eliminated the need for centralized sequencers, proving that there don't need to be compromises when it comes to decentralization. We have grown rapidly since then, processing around 550 million transactions so far. But we are far from completing our work.

Today, we are renewing our commitment to Ethereum and our vision of scaling this promising ecosystem the right way, the based way. Starting with the renaming of our mainnet to Taiko Alethia.

Alethia & Gwyneth: Our Two Main Paths to Scaling Ethereum Infinitely

Taiko Alethia is a based rollup, a general-purpose type-1 zk-rollup built to scale Ethereum without compromising decentralization.

Taiko Gwyneth is a based rollup that takes a purist approach to uniting Ethereum and unlocking synchronous composability.

With Alethia and Gwyneth, we will continue to innovate for the needs of the Ethereum ecosystem, striving to bring its full potential to the masses.

At Taiko, we are committed to opening new paths for the entire ecosystem while fearlessly tackling challenges.

Our partnership with OpenZeppelin to create the next generation of the Based Rollup Stack is a testament to this vision. We want to see based rollups as the standard, removing centralization concerns and aligning all scaling solutions closer to Ethereum.
