Trailblazer Role Update and Taiko Status Advantages

Nearly a month ago, we introduced the “Trailblazer” role to recognize our most passionate community members. The deadline to obtain this role was July 10, and we're happy to see how many of you embraced this change and supported our decision. This role unlocks 100% of the rewards earned by reaching a certain level.

Trailblazers is a community-driven initiative, and its mission clearly states that each user should have one participating wallet. We expected committed users to obtain the role to demonstrate genuine participation. This was necessary because Sybil attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and tokens distributed to bad-faith participants can negatively impact the entire community. On-chain checks alone can be bypassed, even with a large number of wallets, so we needed to go beyond that.

We communicated the importance of the role many times, through announcements (both on Twitter and Discord), banners, and notifications on the Trailblazers website. (We figured if you weren't following our socials, you'd at least see it there.) So we’re confident that any active participant should have been aware of this requirement.

That said, since this is the first season with the role system in place, those who did not obtain the role will still receive 50% of the rewards, provided they pass our Sybil checks. Moving forward, we anticipate a more refined and committed group of Trailblazers.

We like the Trailblazers program to feel good for the active Trailblazers who support us and stick around. As we've always said, we believe in rewarding those who journey with us over time, and we're constantly looking for ways to show appreciation for unwavering loyalty. 👀

Taiko Status Brings Advantages to Trailblazers

Taiko Status is a taskless initiative that offers various benefits to our community. It’s based on the amount of TAIKO tokens held within our ecosystem. Since Trailblazers is a program that distributes TAIKO tokens, it only makes sense that Taiko Status holders should also benefit from the Trailblazers program.

Trailblazers with Taiko Status Will Receive Additional XP

Trailblazers who also hold a Taiko Status will receive bonus XP each week based on their rank. This doesn’t require a Trailblazer role, all the status holders can earn bonus XP. Here’s how the distribution works:

XP = Flat points per rank + (10 × your TAIKO)

XP Distribution by Taiko Status Rank

Bronze (1–5k Status Points):350,000 – 500,000 XP
Silver (5–25k Status Points):500,000 – 700,000 XP
Gold (25–100k Status Points):700,000 – 850,000 XP
Plat (100–250k Status Points):850,000 – 1,000,000 XP
Based (250k+ Status Points):1,000,000 XP (flat)

Formula: XP = minPayout + ((statusPoints - minStatus) × (maxPayout - minPayout)) / (maxStatus - minStatus)

In short, you'll receive weekly bonus XP based on your Taiko Status. So look for your additional XP coming your way next week. And you can always join the Taiko Status holders receiving additional XP by boosting your Taiko Status.

With the introduction of the Trailblazer role, things may feel even more complex. The truth is, this change required us to take our time, we needed to collect and analyze data while continuing our usual Sybil checks.
