Welcome to the very first Taiko mainnet update!
In this blog post, we’re going to take a look at what’s been happening in the Taiko ecosystem since mainnet launch exactly a month ago (spoiler alert: a LOT has been happening!)
Let’s start with some exciting statistics.
Metrics from total value locked (TVL) to total transactions to transactions per second (TPS) since the launch have been impressive to say the least.
Here are some metrics (as of June 28):
TVL: $138,730,000 .
Daily TPS: 19.53.
Total transactions: 21,575,719.
Total blocks: 108,443 (including the very first one that Vitalik proposed!)
Total unique wallets: 699,616.

A week or two after mainnet launch, we upgraded the network to allow for permissionless block proposing and proving, becoming the first Ethereum based rollup.
Since then, we’ve seen 44 unique proposers and 32 unique provers participate in the network — completely permissionlessly. We’ve had multiple community members propose and prove blocks — just check the #the-bistro
channel on our Discord and see for yourself!
Decentralizing a network is a monumental task that takes time. But the first month’s numbers have been very promising so far and we’re confident we can help build a fully permissionless and decentralized network of Taiko proposers and provers.

Taiko’s ecosystem has been up only since mainnet launch. Some integrations include LayerZero, Stargate, Oku Trade, and other 80+ DeFi, gaming, bridge, and other projects.
The gaming ecosystem has also been expanding. Stupid Monkeys, Crack & Stack, Looper Lands, 0xAstra, 21BJ, and other games are now live on Taiko mainnet.
Get ready for an influx of DeFi protocols, games, social and NFT projects, marketplaces, bridges, and infrastructure protocols in the coming months. Check out the Taiko ecosystem page to explore the cutting-edge dapps available on Taiko!
The TAIKO token launched on June 5 with a 5% airdrop to the community and 10% allocation to Traiblazers (more below). The token has now been listed on most major exchanges, including Upbit, Bybit, Gate.io, Bitget, Kucoin, Crypto.com, BitMart, and others. The token is also listed on various decentralized exchanges like Oku Trade.
On top of that, 68,874 community members participated in the public sale on Bybit resulting in 9x over-subscription. 💪
One of the most exciting things we’ve done since launching on mainnet is introducing our Trailblazers program. Trailblazers is a loyalty program where we allocated 10M TAIKO tokens to users and 2M to dapps for everyone to get rewarded for exploring every corner of our ecosystem.
For example, users can try playing games and using DeFi protocols to earn points and rank up the leaderboard. There are also public and hidden multipliers that users can use to get more points.
On the dapps side, all of our ecosystem partners are welcome to compete, and smaller chunks to specific competitions we’ll be announcing. Currently, the gaming competition is on fire!
In just a few weeks, nearly 600,000 people have joined the program, minting over 220,000 Faction badges. This is only the beginning — many more seasons are on the horizon. Don't miss out — join the Trailblazers page for more insights into how it works and how you can participate!
During the first month of mainnet we also focused on expanding our social media presence. For example, we were guests at a recent Bankless episode where our Cofounder and CTO Brecht Devos and engineer Jeff Walsh discussed based rollups and booster rollups.
We also participated in a Twitter space hosted by the Ethereum Foundation where we, together with other leading L2s, announced the winners of the inaugural ZK grant round.
Taiko was also covered by various media outlets. For example, The Block covered Taiko’s mainnet launch and Decrypt discussed Taiko’s blob usage.
Over the next few months, we’re going to focus on attracting more protocols to the ecosystem and growing TVL.
In terms of technical developments, we’ve made incredible strides developing the protocol since mainnet launch and it doesn’t stop here. Raiko, our in-house multi-prover, is going to launch very soon. We’re also going to continue developing our booster rollup scaling solution.
Additionally, the Taiko team will be present at EthCC this coming July. We’ll soon be releasing a public calendar with all the events we’re attending.
As always, huge thank you for everyone’s support!
